Overturned SUV in Dix Hills

The Dix Hills Fire Department and Suffolk Police respond to a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2019, at about 12:35 p.m. on Ryder Avenue near Wildwood Drive in Dix Hills. The Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control and overturned on its side on the front lawn of a home. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by Dix Hills firefighters, and she was transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by the Dix Hills FD Rescue Squad. Two heavy rescue trucks, an ambulance, paramedic and first responder units were dispatched and under the direction of Third Assistant Chief Scott DiPino.
