Celebrate The Music Of Joni Mitchell At The Cinema Arts Centre

Come and celebrate the Songbird Of Saskatchewan, who gave voice to a generation, in this loving tribute to Joni Mitchell’s 75th Birthday.

Huntington, NY: On Tuesday, May 14th 2019 at 7:30 PM the Cinema Arts Centre will be presenting a heartfelt tribute to beloved singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. Hosted by Bill Shelley and featuring rare clips of Joni from the Shelley Archive, our Joni Mitchell: Happy 75th Birthday Celebration is a must see for Joni fans and fans of folk music.

Starting as a Canadian folk singer in cafes and bars, Joni migrated to California in the mid 1960’s where she befriended fellow musician David Crosby of The Byrds, who got her a record deal. Success followed with Judy Collins recording of “Both Sides Now”, before Joni found superstardom with her song “Woodstock”, made famous by Crosby Stills Nash and Young, and which became a celebrated anthem with the famous 1969 rock festival of the same name. With the success of her albums “Ladies Of The Canyon” and “Blue”, Joni became the decades most accomplished female singer songwriter. She also used her skills as a painter to design numerous album covers for herself and others. Ever changing and challenging herself as a musician, she experimented with jazz, fusion and electronica during the 1970s and beyond.

Our tribute will include rare clips from Chelsea Morning, Woodstock, Both Sides Now, Big Yellow Taxi, and more. 110 minutes.
