Town of Huntington has teamed up with the Suffolk County Senior Citizens Fishing Club, the Imperial Sportsmen’s Club of Long Island, and Captain James Schneider of the James Joseph II to offer a free fishing trip to 30 lucky Town of Huntington kids ages 9-13, taking place July 30, 2019 from 12pm to 4pm, disembarking from the Town of Huntington dock next to 95 New York Avenue, Halesite, NY.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for kids who would otherwise never step foot on a fishing boat to learn about fishing as a recreation or as a possible future career,” announced Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci. “We are grateful to the Suffolk County Senior Citizens Fishing Club, the Imperial Sportsmen’s Club of Long Island and Captain James Schneider of the James Joseph II for offering to dedicate your time, expertise and resources to give back to thirty children across the Huntington community.”

The free “Take A Kid Fishing” trip will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 12pm to 4pm. Four James Joseph II ship mates will provide all equipment and instruction; four fishing club members will provide individual assistance and tips on fishing and conservation.

Entrants must be Town of Huntington residents, age 9-13 on the trip date; Tuesday, July 30, 2019. The trip will disembark at 12pm from the Town dock off the municipal lot next to 95 New York Ave, Halesite. The boat is wheelchair-accessible.
