Driver Rescued after Car Crashes into Creek in Halesite

Huntington firefighters and Suffolk Police teamed up to rescue the driver of a vehicle that crashed through a fence and into a creek in the parking lot of the CVS store in Huntington on New York Avenue and Hill Place on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The Huntington Fire Department responded to the crash at 11:25 AM and dispatched a heavy rescue truck and crew under the direction of 3rd Assistant Chief Paul Smith. The 73-year-old woman was removed by police and firefighters, and assisted up the embankment with a ladder. She suffered minor injuries and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.
