Andre Sorrentino and his family donated an automated external defibrillator (AED) to the Huntington American Legion Post #360 veterans organization in August 2019.
Andre Sorrentino, co-founder of the Sorrentino Family Turkey Drive, which donated 2,660 turkeys to local families in need for the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday, has donated an automated external defibrillator (AED), valued at approximately $2,000, to the veterans hall that hosts the annual Sorrentino Family Turkey Drive fundraiser.
Andre Sorrentino stated: “The Huntington American Legion has always been a great supporter of our family’s turkey drive and it’s an honor to be able to give back to our veterans and ensure this life-saving device is here for the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep our country free.”
Andrew Brady, Commander of Huntington American Legion Post #360 graciously stated: “Andre’s donation is well-appreciated, the man is always thinking of the veterans and our community and this is another shining example of his commitment to helping others.”
Huntington Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci praised Andre Sorrentino’s philanthropy: “Andre Sorrentino and his family have given so much to the Huntington community and their generous donation demonstrates their deep respect for our veterans.”
Huntington Town Councilman Ed Smyth added: “Thanks to the Sorrentino Family Foundation for this AED gift. I hope it’s a total waste of money and never gets used!”
Andre Sorrentino, 2019 candidate for Huntington Town Board, has been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Working Families parties; Sorrentino won the Working Families party line as a write-in candidate on June 25.
Andre Sorrentino has been putting people over politics for 40+ years: co-founder of PAS Automotive and Sorrentino Trucking, Andre credits his immigrant parents with instilling the value of hard work and giving back. Andre’s Sorrentino Family Turkey Drive donates 1,000s of turkeys to local families in need and Andre is serving in his 5th year as Huntington Fire Commissioner. Andre Sorrentino’s innovative, hands-on leadership as the Town of Huntington’s Director of General Services has improved public safety and quality of life, reversing neighborhood blight and beautifying town parks, especially at Heckscher Park, which has earned him widespread praise.
