Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart and Police Chief of Department Stuart Cameron will be reminding parents and students of the consequences of making a school threat during a press conference at the Suffolk County Police Academy on September 9, 2019 at 10:20 a.m.
During the first week of school, Suffolk Police officers have already responded to three different school threats. While school threats are often a hoax, students can still face criminal charges. Keeping students safe is at the forefront of the department’s responsibility and preventing the threats through education is equally as important.
