Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash In Dix HIlls

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a Bay Shore man in Melville Saturday, October 5, 2019 at approximately 6 a.m..

Jhonny Barros-Chauca was driving a 2015 Honda CR-V on the eastbound Long Island Expressway when he lost control of the vehicle, and struck a cement pillar at Half Hollow Road at approximately 6 a.m. Barros-Chauca, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
