Throwback Thursday – Councilman Eugene Cook with Local Businesses Pave VFW Post 1469 Parking Lot
On Saturday, September 27, 2014, the parking lot for VFW Post 1469 was paved at no expense to the Post or to Huntington Taxpayers when Councilman Cook reached out to several Long Island small business owners who stepped up to make this happen. Posillico Inc., Pioneer Asphalt, Power Crush Inc., EZ Sewer and Drain, Commercial Concrete, and MGM Seal Coating who worked together to donate the materials, labor, and equipment for the paving and striping of the parking lot.
Dominick Feeney, Senior – President of the Board of Directors for the Nathan Hale Post Membership Committee stated, “I have been a member of Post 1469 for fifty years and this is the first time I have seen our lot paved. Right from the get-go Councilman Eugene Cook did a great job coordinating the local business owners to complete the paving of our lot. I am thankful that Councilman Cook is not only a Hibernian but a friend to Nathan Hale Post 1469.
“This would never have happened, if our local small business owner’s didn’t open their hearts to our Veterans Community. I am grateful for the generosity of Posillico Inc., Pioneer Asphalt, Power Crush Inc., EZ Sewer and Drain, Commercial Concrete, and MGM Seal Coating. Today, I recognize two groups of heroes, our Veterans who stand up for our Freedom and the companies who allowed us to show them how much we appreciate their service to our country”, stated Councilman Eugene Cook.
