Woman Arrested for DWI After Crashing Into Unmarked Police Vehicle on Maplewood

Suffolk County Police last night arrested a woman for driving while intoxicated after crashing her vehicle into an unmarked police car in Huntington Station Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at approximately 9:50 p.m.

Katerina Hirasekova was driving a 2019 Volkswagen SUV northbound on Maplewood Road when she crashed her vehicle into the rear of an unmarked police car that was stopped at a red light at approximately 9:50 p.m. The Volkswagen then veered off the roadway, struck a utility pole, and crashed into the gas main at a residential home. Two uniformed officers in the police vehicle were transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Hirasekova, 42, of 2 Glenwood Lane, Huntington, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. She is being held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 5.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
