Greenlawn FD Responds to Serious Motor Vehicle Accident

Greenlawn Fire Department volunteers were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle accident on Broadway between Depew Street and Legacy Court, on Saturday morning, January 4, 2020 at 7:52 a.m. Under the direction of First Assistant Chief Angelo Santomauro, assisted by Second Assistant Chief Pete Miller and Third Assistant Chief Joe Pace, two cars were involved in the crash with one patient trapped in one of the vehicles. 
 
Firefighters from Headquarters Rescue Pumper 2-7-6 and Station One Rescue Quint 2-7-2, used the “Jaws of Life” rescue tools to extricate the patient. Three Greenlawn FD Rescue Squad ambulances accompanied by Greenlawn and East Northport FD Paramedics, transported two patients to Huntington Hospital and one patient to Southside Hospital. Centerport Fire Department Deputy Chief Dr. Jack Geffken also assisted at the scene.
