Huntington Bay Constables Make BWI Arrest

The Town of Huntington Harbormaster’s Bay Constables who stopped and arrested an intoxicated boater in the early evening of Wednesday, July 29, 2020 near Duck Island in Northport Bay. 

“HARBORMASTER BWI ARREST: Early last Wednesday evening, a 63-year-old Dix Hills man was arrested and charged with BWI and reckless operation of a vessel. Our Bay Constables observed the boater’s reckless operation of the boat and stopped him, the boater visibly intoxicated. The suspect refused a breathalyzer and was arrested near Duck Island in Northport Bay and handed of to law enforcement. The boat was towed to Huntington Harbor and impounded. Thanks to our great Maritime Services team for keeping our waters safe!” Stated Huntington Supervisor.
