Description:

Don Wilson began life on a farm and restaurant in Bethpage, the Beau SeJour, operated by his family from 1908 to 1974.  In his 43 year academic career, he worked with children and adults as Library Media Specialist, Public Librarian, Assistant Professor of Library Science, and University Administrator.  Now reviving his early love of painting, Don has studied at the Atelier Gallery, the Parrish Art Museum, and Jada in Greenport, and with artist Diane Alec Smith in Cutchogue.  He paints bright, boldly colored, realistic images in acrylic on canvas, wood and glass. At his cottage home on the North Fork, he is inspired by the farms, the sea, the shore, and the Long Island landscape. “I love painting old homes, barns, farm stands, water front scenes, commercial fishing boats, pleasure crafts, and boats sailing by at sunset.”
