Huntington Manor FD Battles House Fire, Resident Injured

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to a house fire on Foxwood Drive South in Huntington Station, Saturday, June 28, at about 1:45 p.m. Upon arrival, the rear entrance area of the home and attic were ablaze as firefighters battled the flames and heat. The Huntington and Melville fire departments assisted at the scene, while Greenlawn firefighters provided a standby engine at Huntington Manor’s headquarters. Fifty firefighters using eight trucks had the fire under control within 45 minutes, under the command of First Assistant Chief Frank McQuade and operations by Third Assistant Chief Jon Hoffmann.  One resident suffered burns to his hands and feet and head lacerations, and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad. The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating. Suffolk Fire Rescue Coordinators were also dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.
