Fire Damages Ralph’s Ices and Nathan’s in Commack

The Commack Fire Department responded to a commercial building fire that heavily damaged Ralph’s Italian Ices, Nathan’s Famous and Lorenzo’s Pizza on Commack Road, Wednesday night, October 8, at 8:33 p.m. About 75 firefighters using 10 trucks from Commack and Kings Park FD’s battled the smokey fire which was brought under control within 45 minutes. The Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Dix Hills FD Rescue Squad had EMS crews at the scene, while the East Northport FD provided standby coverage for Commack. Units were under the command of Commack Fire Chief Pete Paccione with operations support of Third Assistant Chief Paul Carnevale. Commack Road was closed and traffic diverted around the fire scene. There were no injuries reported, and the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Police Arson Squad, Huntington and Commack fire marshals. Suffolk Fire-Rescue Coordinators were also on the scene assisting.
