Huntington Town Councilman Gene Cook has drafted and submitted a resolution that will be introduced at the Huntington Town Board’s scheduled meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM. The purpose of the resolution is to request that an independent federal officer, the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, investigate the allegations of corruption that have been reported on by Newsday in repeated news articles.
Town Councilman Mark Cuthbertson has been the subject of several news articles involving his failure to disclose business relationships with individuals with business before the Town in conjunction with various court appointments he has received to act as a Receiver of foreclosed properties.
Councilman Cook’s resolution requests that the United States Attorney investigate the actions of the Ethics Board and the interactions the Ethics Board has had with individual members of the Town Council. “I feel the good people of Huntington deserve transparency in their elected officials and in the persons that the elected officials appoint to important positions like those on the Ethics Board. The people of Huntington deserve honesty and integrity in all of their elected officials.” said Cook.
For further information please contact Councilman Cook at 631-351-3000.

Thank you Mr. Cook for being the one member of the Town Board that does what he is elected to do, and not what Frank Petrone tells him to. Nor is he motivated by self promotion or greed. I am so glad I voted for you and wish Mr. Mayoka was still on the board.
