Woman Dies After Struck By Vehicle Driven By Husband

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash during which a woman died after being struck by a vehicle driven by her husband in Fort Salonga the morning of Monday, December 2, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m.

After walking her grandchild to the bus stop, Nancy Richard was returning to her home at 9 Concord Drive when she was struck by a 2015 Mercedes S550, driven by her husband, Peter Richard, who was backing out of their driveway at approximately 7:30 a.m.  

Nancy Richard, 79, was transported to Huntington Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Peter Richard, 83, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
