The Serenade Duo will perform classical works for flute and guitar by composers from Argentina, Brazil, and Italy at the Cold Spring Harbor Library & Environmental Center. All are invited to attend this free program on Sunday. Advance registration is suggested.
Founded in 1988, the multi-award winning ensemble Serenade Duo, featuring Michelle LaPorte, flutist, and Gerry Saulter, guitarist, brings concert music of the world to life with their warm presence and engaging interpretations of unique repertoire. Michelle LaPorte is an acclaimed solo flutist and Miyazawa Artist who performs throughout the world in numerous solo concerts and chamber music recitals. Gerry Saulter is a renowned classical guitarist who performs across the globe as a soloist and chamber musician. Their “Rio Days & Tuscan Nights” program includes works by Astor Piazolla, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and José Luis Merlin.
The Cold Spring Harbor Library recently introduced a new level of premium programming, under the banner of Signature Events, to educate and entertain the local community. The Serenade Duo performance is one of many exceptional programs to be offered by the Library in the next year.
