Melville FD Rescue Driver of Overturned SUV

The Melville Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to a collision where a GMC sports utility vehicle overturned onto its side after crashing into two parked cars on Wilmington Drive near Bagatelle Road, Saturday afternoon, September 10.  Melville firefighters used heavy rescue tools to extricate the driver who suffered non-life threatening injuries, and she was transported to Huntington Hospital by Melville Rescue Squad ambulance.  About 30 firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with an engine, heavy rescue truck, two ambulances, first responder unit, and fire police, under the command of Melville Fire Chief Robert Warren.  Suffolk Police Emergency Service truck also assisted in the rescue.
