Man Shot On Tippen Drive In Huntington Station

On Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at approximately 9:35 p.m. Sheldon Leftenant was standing in front of his residence at 7 Tippin Drive when two vehicles drove by and someone fired a gun at the group. The bullet struck Leftenant in the groin.

Leftenant, 23, was transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later transported to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where he is undergoing surgery.

7 Tippin Drive is a non-owner occupied rental owned by Catco Associates which is one of the companies owned by out of town landlord, Don Pius.  Much of the crime in Huntington Station can be tied to irresponsible absentee  landlords and Town Hall turning a blind eye.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
