Winter Storm Warning In Effect Beginning 7PM This Evening

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM EST MONDAY.

LOCATIONS…THE NEW YORK CITY AND NEW JERSEY METROPOLITAN AREAS…NORTHERN NASSAU AND NORTHWEST SUFFOLK COUNTIES…AND SOUTHEASTERN COASTAL CONNECTICUT.

  • Today: A slight chance of snow after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Tonight: Snow, mainly after 10pm. Low around 26. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Light southeast wind becoming east 10 to 15 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  • Monday: Snow and freezing rain. Temperature falling to around 25 by 3pm. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Monday Night: A chance of snow before 10pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 11. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21. Northwest wind 6 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11.
  • Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37.
