A Suffolk County Police Second Precinct patrol officer helped deliver a baby in Commack early this morning.
Police Officer Michael Fitterer was dispatched at 2:24 a.m. to Grace Park Drive, in response to a 911 call reporting a 30-year-old woman was in active labor. A few minutes after arriving at the scene, Officer Fitterer assisted the mother in delivering a healthy baby girl.
Both mother and daughter were transported via ambulance to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown.
