Message from the New Executive Director of the Huntington Arts Council

Marc CourtadeHello Members of the Huntington Arts Council, the arts, our business partners and surrounding community.

As I begin my first weeks as the new Executive Director, I would like you to know that I am delighted to be here and excited to bring my skills and enthusiasm to the Huntington Arts Council. I look forward to working with you to help the arts remain a vibrant and important part of our community.

As we move forward into a long awaited Spring, the Huntington Arts Council will continue to bring you a diverse calendar of programs and events. Please join us if you can. I look forward to meeting you.

Marc Courtade

Most recently Marc was the Business Manager for Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post for the last seventeen years. His work there involved overseeing the budget, identifying and soliciting foundation, corporate and individual donors as well as management of all state and federal government reporting. Marc was integral in the support of all phases of the details for planning and implementation of the performance season, special events and cultivation. During his tenure at Tilles Marc created and implemented the pre-performance series Performance PLUS!, while acting as Producer/Artistic Director for ten years.

Marc has been a speaker for the New York Council for the Humanities since 2007, lecturing on The Rodgers and Hammerstein Era: Reinventing Musical Theater and The Ethnic Musicals; Assimilation and Integration. He is a frequent speaker all over Long Island and the New York area on Broadway Musicals, Opera and Great Performers for organizations ranging from Jericho Library to 92Y. Previously, Marc worked in Development for Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and New York City Opera, as well as AVP for Enhance Financial Services.

Marc has a MS, Nonprofit Management from the New School for Social Research, BPS, Music/concentration Vocal Studies from Empire State College and a BA, English from the University of Buffalo.
