Editor’s note: TracyMarie Verme passed away on April 18, 2015 in a car crash in Huntington. The following heartfelt words were written by Katherine Forsberg who is a dear friend of TracyMarie. We are honored that she was willing to share this with us. The family has set up a go fund me page to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
Friends and family… that is what Tracy was about. She upgraded everyone. If you were a friend, you were a cousin. If you were a cousin, you were a sister or brother. There wasn’t a bad bone in her body. You could always find her cooking her Grandmother’s Meatloaf or her Mother’s sauce for the entire family on Sundays. Everyone was always invited, and more so everyone was welcome anytime at their home.
Tracy was about traditions. She made sure everyone knew those traditions, loved heartedly, compassionately and simply. She could be seen at St. Patrick’s Church on Sundays, her faith was very important to her, and really believed in the afterlife. She was a kind, loving person who brought light to those around her.
As the family grew; marriages and babies came along. She longed for her own life to take flight. Recently it did. She met the true love of her life, Dave. They were to be married in the near future.
Tracy could always be seen living a simple life, that one could admire. As Lindsay Cody-Pollock, her cousin said beautifully, “pure love with a full heart, that is how we all should live.”
Huntington was her town, and she was proud of it. Out walking with her dogs or with her niece and nephews. More so, she loved out east; Mattituck. She could be seen walking the streets of Mattituck with Dave on the weekends.
Tracy leaves behind her Mother, Mary, her late Father Fred, her brother Nick, a sister-in-law Wendy, a niece Samantha, 2 nephews Dominic and Nicky, all whom she loved so dearly.
This tragedy of Tracy’s death has brought an outpouring of love. The family and friends of Tracy set up a fundraiser and raised 12,000 dollars in 2 days to offset the funeral expenses. The doors to Tracy’s home have been open and have continuously opened and closed by hundreds of family and friends. Mary her mother has been overwhelmed with the response and beautiful heartfelt words that have been shared. She wishes to thank as does the family all the love and support at this very difficult and trying time. Mary believes Tracy brought everyone together to “simply appreciate life.”
In her Mothers words.. “Tracymarie is an angel that has now been called to heaven.”
