Huntington Man Arrested for Crashing Into Centerport House

On April 28, 2015, Edward Meyer, Jr. 49, of Huntington, was driving a 2011 GMC pick-up truck when his vehicle struck the corner of a house at Prospect Road in Centerport. Meyer fled the scene northbound on Prospect Road and was arrested at 11:52 p.m. at his residence in Huntington.  Meyer was charged with DWI and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash with Property Damage. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.  The Building Inspector from the Town of Huntington, as well as National Grid, PSEG and the Centerport Fire Department were notified and responded to the scene. Meyer is being held at the 2nd Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
