The Make-A-Wish Foundation along with the Huntington Manor Fire Department, Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department, and the New York City Fire Department, joined together on Sunday, May 3, for a special visit to the Pastore Family to see 14-year-old Marissa who was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The event featured many real-life Disney and cartoon characters as well as the FDNY 150th Anniversary ladder truck. Marissa’s loving parents, Domenick and Risa, are both volunteers with the Huntington Manor Fire Department, where Domenick is an ex-chief. Domenick is also a member of the FDNY, and Risa is an Emergency Department nurse at Huntington Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pastore Family during this very difficult time.
