Two boys and two girls between the ages of 11 and 14-years-old walked into the Jericho Convenience store located at 1058 Jericho Turnpike in Huntington at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015. They were confronted by an employee, Bipinkumar Patel who asked the kids if they were wearing underwear. When the children answered, Patel offered them money if they showed him their underwear and private parts.
Second Precinct Patrol Officers Robert Mahady and Michael Yonelunas responded and arrested Patel.
Patel, 35, of Linwood Ave., Huntington, was arrested and charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was released and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on July 7.
