In recognition of National Emergency Medical Service Week ( May 17th thru May 23rd) the Huntington Community First Aid Squad will host an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday May 17, 2015 from 1 PM to 4 PM at 2 Railroad St. in Huntington Station.
Events and attractions include:
Suffolk County’s Hazard Training Trailer– Learn how to cope with an emergency situation
Project Life Savor– Safety program for senior and others with disabilities
Yellow Dot Kits-For accident victims unable to give first responders important information
Computer Cop- Parents can guard their children against sexual predators and cyber bullying
We Have A Little Emergency (W.H.A.L.E.) kits will be available for parents of small children
Shed The Meds- Safely dispose of unused prescription medications
Blood Drive-Summers coming, the need for added blood supply is strong
Organ Donor Registry– You can become an organ donor
Hands Only CPR– Learn how you may save a life
Suffolk County Emergency Service Unit
WBAB will be broadcasting from the event
In addition there will be First Aid demonstrations, building and vehicle tours, face painting, games for the children, giveaways, free raffles and refreshments.
About Huntington Community First Aid Squad: Huntington Community First Aid Squad provides Advanced Life Support Ambulances and Emergency Medical Services to residents within the town of Huntington since 1967. All-volunteer crews are ready to go 24/7, 365 days a year, to answer the call from neighbors in need. The Huntington Community Ambulance District covers an area from Lloyd Harbor and Lloyd Neck in the North – to Melville in the South and from the Nassau/Suffolk border and Cold Spring Harbor in the West – to Greenlawn and Dix Hills in the East. Over 280 volunteer members responded to more than 5,600 calls in 2014.
