Six Injured in Dix Hills Two Vehicle Crash

Dix Hills Fire Department volunteers responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in six injuries on Deer Park Avenue and the South Service Road of the Long Island Expressway on Monday, June 22, at about 9:30 p.m. Four adults and two children suffered injuries and were transported to Huntington Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital by Dix Hills Rescue Squad ambulances. Thirty firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with three heavy rescue trucks, three ambulances, first responder and paramedic units, and were under the command of Assistant Chiefs Tom Napolitano, Alan Berkowitz and Joe Williamson. The Melville Fire Department assisted with a standby ambulance during the alarm.
