E. Northport Teen Arrested for DWI on Jericho Turnpike Accident

The Dix Hills Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Jericho Turnpike and Eldorado Drive in Elwood, Thursday night, August 6, at about 9:20 p.m.  According to Suffolk Police, Ruben Gamez, 18, of East Northport, the operator of a 1999 Honda, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after colliding with a Jeep sports utility vehicle. Dix Hills fire/rescue volunteers responded with two heavy rescue trucks, an ambulance and paramedic unit, under the command of Assistant Chief Alan Berkowitz and Joe Williamson.
