Violence Continues 2 days in a Row in Huntington

TH_shotspotter3For the second day in a row more gun violence has happened in the Township of Huntington.  Early this morning a caller to 911 reported a shooting at 12:01am.  

Second Precinct police officers responded to the area of Stuyvesant Street between Crown Avenue and Brand Drive after a 911 call. When officers arrived, they discovered Aaron Jolly, 18, lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his right leg. According to sources the suspect fled on foot was believed to be a black man no other details are known at this time.

An investigation by Second Squad detectives revealed that Jolly was shot by an unknown person while he was standing in the street. Jolly, of Northport, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was treated and released.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating this shooting and the one yesterday that happened on New York Avenue and President Street.  They ask for the public’s help, anyone with information about this incident to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
