Farewell to Summer ConcertSuffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and the Suffolk County Office for the Aging will host the county’s second annual Farewell to Summer Concert on Friday September 18 at the Pennysaver Amphitheater at Bald Hill.

The 60’s Invasion, playing radio favorites from the 1960s and early 1970s; Backtrax, formerly known as A Touch of Grey, and the Heart of Long Island Chorus, an all-women’s a capella group, will provide musical entertainment.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for all of our residents, but especially senior citizens, to keep active and plugged in to their communities,” County Executive Bellone said. “It’s also a way for talented local musicians to display their talents for those who enjoy live music and local entertainment.”

Last year’s inaugural concert drew 1,200 to a Patchogue theater, followed by a second event at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead, with approximately 700 in attendance.

Because of the success  last year, this year’s concert will be held at the larger, more centrally located venue, which can seat about 2,500 with an extra capacity of 5,000 using lawn seating.

The Farewell to Summer Concert is free of charge to all residents.  However, all attendees must have a ticket for admission.  Residents can secure their free tickets  to the 7 p.m. concert by logging onto www.pennysaveramp.com or by calling the Office for the Aging at 631-853-8200. Please note that seating is limited. Reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis.

Additional information may be also be obtained by contacting the Office for the Aging at (631) 853-8200.
