Edward Plough, a resident of Huntington, has joined the faculty of Farmingdale State College as assistant professor of English.
Dr. Plough joins Farmingdale’s School of Arts and Sciences following teaching positions at Delta State and Oklahoma State universities. He earned a doctorate in Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Purdue University, and an MA in Shakespeare Studies at the University of London. He did his undergraduate work at Bradley University, in Illinois.
Dr. Plough’s Shakespeare scholarship has been published in Penn State’s Interdisciplinary Literary Studies: A Journal of Criticism and Theory, and as a chapter in News from the Raven: Essays from Sam Houston State University On Medieval and Renaissance Thought; and presented at national conferences ranging from the Shakespeare Association of America’s annual meeting to the Blackfriars Conference in Staunton, Virginia. He has edited two books on English grammar.
Dr. Plough is currently working on a book that will examine musical theatre adaptations of Shakespeare. In addition to his scholarship, he is a co-composer for musical theater, and has collaborated on three full-length musicals. He is a member of the Shakespeare Association of America and the Renaissance Society of America.
Farmingdale’s School of Arts & Sciences enrolls more than 2,800 students in the Departments of Professional Communications; Applied Mathematics; Security Systems; Bioscience; Science, Technology & Society; History and Political Science, and Applied Psychology.
