Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci joined in the celebration of Huntington’s three newest Eagle Scouts during a Court of Honor ceremony at Halesite Firehouse Sunday evening January 3, 2016.
Joined by Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, Lupinacci honored Christopher M. Mancini, Peter J. Ciccone III and Joseph Dammers, each of whom were elevated to the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve during this weekend’s ceremony.
“Today, we recognize a great achievement of which we can all be proud. Mr. Ciccone, Mr. Mancini and Mr. Dammers are three excellent examples of pride, dedication and commitment to our communities – three qualities, when applied, lead to success in any endeavor. I proudly applaud these distinguished young men, and I wish each the best of luck for the future,” Lupinacci said.
Each of the young men completed their climb to Eagle by successfully organizing and completing community service projects.
Mancini completed a project in which he planned and led the construction of a cedar three-bin composting system for use at the Gateway Community Garden in Huntington Station. Ciccone III planned and led the creation of a memorial to Huntington High School Fencing coach and technology teacher Alan Kuver, who died July 1, 2014 after battling cancer. Dammers planned and led the construction of three replacement benches for the Huntington High School campus.
