The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded and found a heavy smoke condition on arrival. Firefighters stretched a hose line to the basement and quickly knocked down the fire, under the command of Chief Frank McQuade. Firefighters rescued two pet cats. A woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by Huntington Community First Aid Squad. The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal, Public Safety and Suffolk Police Arson Squad were on the scene investigating. Story by Steve Silverman
