Huntington, NY – The Heckscher Museum of Art is pleased to present FIRST FIRDAY:
Heroines Among Us: Storytelling and Music Friday, February 5, 2016. Robin Bady and
violinist Concetta Abbate embroider stories of strong and brave girls into a musical tapestry of everyday life.

Award-winning storyteller Robin Bady performs nationally and internationally at festivals,
theaters, cabarets, and schools. She hosts the successful BADYHouse Storytelling Concert
series in her hometown, Brooklyn. NYC-based violinist and songwriter Concetta Abbate’s songs are inspired by natural sciences, folk tales, poetry, and everyday objects and sounds. Known for her work with poets, dancers, and writers, Abbate has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Rubin Museum of Art.

The Museum galleries are open until 8:30 pm with the free performance starting at 7:00 pm.

Exhibitions on view are You Go Girl! Celebrating Women Artists, Men at Work, and Street Life: Private Moments/Public Record. The free First Friday series is a popular event at The
Heckscher Museum, and is one of the many public programs offered for people of all ages.
