JUROR: Barbara Applegate holds a BA in Art History and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Art History and Philosophy, from C.W. Post campus of L I. University. Ms.Applegate regularly teaches courses in the History of Art at LIU Post and Farmingdale State College. During her 15 year tenure at the Steinberg Museum of Art at Hillwood, LIU Post she has worked on projects with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, organized professional development opportunities, developed and presented exhibitions, and overseen the development of special websites based on the Museum’s Collection.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists including full time students.
MEDIUM: All media.
ENTRIES: How does this Shakespearian quotation trigger your artistic Imagination? We all recognize that the works of William Shakespeare continue to inspire us. On the 400th anniversary of his death we invite you to submit work, literal or abstract, which is inspired by this line from Juliet’s balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. No artwork previously shown in the Main Street Gallery will be accepted. Submission materials cannot be returned.
SIZE FRAMED: Up to 30″Hx30″W
ENTRY FEE: First 2 entries: Artist members $25, Full-time students $25, Non-members $35. Additional entries $5 ea. No more than 2 works per artist will be selected.
SALES: The Huntington Arts Council retains a 25% commission on all work sold.
LIABILITY INSURANCE: All work is insured while in the possession of the Huntington Arts Council.
Reception: Friday, April 1, 2016, 6 – 8pm

Submission Methods:
There are two options available to enter the show
1) Submit entries, images and pay on line. CLICK HERE
Digital images must be no larger than 7mb (300 dpi, 2400 pixels on the longest side)
OR
2) Submit a paper application by downloading prospectus Juried Art show “A Rose by Any Other Name” and mail or drop off completed form with CD of digital images and payment.
