DIX HILLS FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS INSTALLATION CEREMONY

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci, Assemblyman Andrew Raia, Town Clerk Jo-Anne Raia and Coucilperson Susan Berland, were on hand February 7, 2016 to congratulate leaders of the Dix Hills Fire Department on their installment to serve in various leadership positions.

Three of the individuals installed on Sunday are new to board-level leadership positions in the department. Those include Terence Vierling, Second Lieutenant of Company 1; T.J. Farrell, Second Lieutenant of Company Two; and Meagan Pereira, Lieutenant of the Rescue Squad. Farrell’s father, Terry, was an FDNY firefighter who died after rushing to the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

“Volunteers are the backbone of the vast number of fire departments on Long Island,” Lupinacci said. “I applaud every man and woman who courageously steps up to serve their community, and thank the leaders of the Dix Hills Fire Department for their stewardship of an organization entrusted with protecting the lives and property of their neighbors.”
