Truck Overturns in Dix Hills Crash

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a crash involving an overturned box truck carrying produce on Deer Park Avenue and DeForest Road South on Monday, February 29, 2016 at about 11:15 a.m. The driver was pinned in the truck and extricated by Dix Hills firefighters who used heavy rescue tools to cut out the truck’s windshield. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad. About 15 Dix Hills Fire/Rescue personnel were on the scene with a heavy rescue truck, pumper, ambulance and paramedic responder. Suffolk Police second precinct, emergency service, and State Police were also on the scene.
