Huntington Manor FD Rescues Man Trapped in Crash

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to extricate an elderly man trapped following a crash on Jericho Turnpike near Brooks Avenue on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at about 11:22 a.m. Manor firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” heavy rescue tools to remove a door from the SUV that struck a tree and knocked over a fire hydrant.

Firefighters quickly had the patient freed, who was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.  Two heavy rescue trucks and an engine were dispatched to the crash, and crews were under the command of Huntington Manor Fire Chief Frank McQuade.
