Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Huntington Station early this morning.
Francisco Palma was sitting in a vehicle in the rear parking lot of Melissa Restaurant, located at 1419 New York Ave., at approximately 1 a.m., when two gunshots were fired at the vehicle by an unknown assailant, striking Palma in his left arm.
The Huntington Community First Aid Squad was sent to the rear parking lot of a restaurant located at the corner of New York Avenue and Pulaski Road where they found a victim suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim, Palma 39, of Farmingdale, was shot in the left arm while sitting in a vehicle. He was treated at the scene and transported to Huntington Hospital in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
