The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire on Wolf Hill Road early Friday morning, March 11, 2016, at 5:02 a.m. Firefighters arrived to a heavy smoke condition with the residents and family dog safely evacuated from the one-story home. About 35 firefighters aggressively attacked the blaze which was brought under control within 20 minutes, confining the fire damage to a bedroom.

Three Dix Hills fire engines, an ambulance, rehab and paramedic units were on the scene, under the command of Chief Robert Fling. Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Greenlawn Fire Department at the scene, and the Huntington Manor Fire Department and Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps for standby coverage.

The Town of Huntington Cyanide Response Team was also dispatched to the scene. There were no injuries reported, and the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating.
