League of Women Voters Presents “Running and a Winning Program”

The League of Women Voters of Huntington is proud to present The Running and Winning Program for local high school young women on April 20^th at the Harborfields Public Library from 9am to 1pm.   Women who have been elected to public office or who serve as judges and active community leaders will recount their journey to public service, their experiences and how they fulfill their professional and personal responsibilities. These professionals will interact with our high school students in individual group settings.

The students, guided by facilitators and working in groups, will develop a “virtual” candidate for public office. They will create a campaign including a biography for her, bumper stickers and campaign speech, which will be presented by a member of each group.

This program will provide a memorable learning experience for the participating students as well as the adults who take part in Running and Winning..
