The Commack Fire Department, Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Suffolk County Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident Thursday night, March 31. Three occupants suffered injuries after a Mazda sedan crashed into a wooded area on Vanderbilt Motor Parkway near Shinbone Lane at around 7 p.m. Commack firefighters, EMS crews and police worked together as a team to assist with the removal and treatment of the patients. They were transported to area hospitals by Commack ambulances. Commack FD was on the scene with an engine and heavy rescue truck, under the command of Chief Andy Babajko and Assistant Chiefs Rich Myers and Paul Carnevale.
