The Melville Fire Department responded after a car crashed through the front entrance of Bagel Biz on
Walt Whitman Road in Melville, Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2016, at about 3:25 p.m. The crash shattered two large windows and damaged the alcove area. Melville firefighters were on the scene with an engine and ambulance, under the command of Chief Jason Bernfeld and Third Assistant Chief David Kaplan. There were no injuries reported to the driver or the occupants of the store, and the Huntington Building Inspector was requested to check the structure. Ironically, a vehicle crashed into the adjoining Gourmet Wok Chinese Restaurant in the same strip mall last June.
