Cold Spring Harbor & Huntington Firefighters Battle Lloyd Neck House Fire

The Huntington Fire Department assisted by five local departments battled a house fire that extensively damaged part of a waterfront home in the Village of Lloyd Harbor, Wednesday night, April 6, 2016. The Huntington Fire Department responded to the call at 8:01 p.m. for a residential structure fire on Seacrest Drive in Lloyd Neck.

Firefighters arrived to find the attached garage and second floor above fully involved in fire. Huntington firefighters began an aggressive attack on the blaze, and were assisted by the Halesite, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Manor, Centerport and Greenlawn fire departments. About 85 firefighters using ten trucks had the fire under control in just under two hours, under the command of Chief Jesse Cukro, supported by Assistant Chiefs Rob Conroy, Brian Keane and Scott Dodge.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Lloyd Harbor Police Department and Suffolk Police Arson Squad.
