Serious Crash of Bicyclist With Car in East Northport -Airlifted

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash the injured a bicyclist in East Northport last night Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 10:23pm.

Peter Ingoglia, 53, of East Northport was travelling northbound on Laurel Road in a 2004 Ford Expedition when an 18-year-old man who was attempting to cross the road on a bicycle crashed into the vehicle.

The bicyclist, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Ingoglia remained at the scene and no charges were filed.

The Ford Expedition was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
