The Huntington Fire Department responded to a crash after a car struck a utility pole and overturned on its side Tuesday morning, May 3, 2016 at about 8:45 a.m., on Woodbury Road near Tall Tree Court. Huntington volunteer firefighters used heavy rescue extrication tools to remove the roof from the Nissan Altima and free the driver. Heavy Rescue Truck 2-3-5, Engine 2-3-4 and 15 firefighters were on the scene, under the direction of Assistant Chiefs Brian Keane and Scott Dodge. The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad. Huntington firefighters also assisted at a second crash at Woodbury Road and Hawxhurst Road after an SUV clipped a Suffolk Police car that was blocking the road, and then crashed into a tree. The driver of the SUV was taken to Huntington Hospital.
