Man Shot in LIRR Parking Arrests Made

A man was shot at the LIRR Commuter Parking Lot, New York Avenue, Huntington Station on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Jose Jurado, 20, of Huntington Station, was walking through the LIRR parking lot when a man stepped out of a vehicle, pointed a gun at Jurado, and shot him in the foot.

Jurado fled and made his way to a local 7-Eleven on New York Avenue where someone called 911. Jurado was transported by ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he is listed in stable condition.

Suffolk County Police have arrested two men on May 4, 2016 for shooting a man at the Huntington Station LIRR Commuter parking lot on April 23.

Following an investigation, Second Squad detectives charged Jonattan Canales, and his step-brother Cesar Moncada with Assault 1st Degree for the shooting.

Canales, 18, and Moncada, 19, both of 19 Tower St., Huntington Station, are being held at the Second Precinct in Huntington Station. Both are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 5, 2016.
