Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone and the Town Council gave special recognition at the May 10 Town Board meeting to the Huntington High School 4×400 meter relay team, which recently won a national championship.
The team — composed of students Kyree Johnson, Lawrence Leake, Shane McGuire and Infinite Tucker and coached by Ron Wilson, Eli Acosta and Haidee Ganz-Bonhurst – received a proclamation from Supervisor Petrone congratulating them for their record breaking year, which was capped by their success at the New Balance National Meet in Manhattan March 13. They set a new Suffolk County record and beat out 26 other teams.
“Congratulations and thank you for bringing it home,” Supervisor Petrone told the team.
