Early on May 25 2016 around 3 am 2 citizens found a dead body on Clinton Avenue in Huntington Village. The unresponsive male was taken to Huntington Hospital were he was pronounced dead. According to Officials the victim was not part of any altercation from inside the bar Mary Carroll’s. Homicide detectives have ruled this a murder. Police should find more evidence from the larger amount of surveillance equipment from many of the businesses in the area.
Police have released the name of the victim as Edwin Rivera of Bay Shore. His death is being followed up with an autopsy from the Suffolk County Medical examiners office. Also today many on social media posted seeing an arrest in the area of the crime scene. However that person that was arrested, was not for this crime but for causing issues at the crime scene and for other issues, police had him transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for an evaluation.
Homicide detectives are still investigating. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
